Pudina Masoor Tikki


  • ¼ cup whole masoor (red lentils)
  • ¼ cup mint leaves finely chopped
  • ¼ cup coriander leaves finely chopped
  • ½ onion finely chopped
  • 1-teaspoon ginger-green chilli paste
  • ½ teaspoon bhuna jeera powder
  • 2 teaspoons whole wheat bread crumbs
  • Salt to taste

How to prepare:

  1. Clean, wash and soak masoor overnight. Drain
  2. Put two cups of water in masoor dal and pressure cook till daal is slightly overcooked but not mashed
  3. Drain any excess water from the lentils and coarsely grind or pound with mortar pestle
  4. Add rest of the ingredients in the lentil paste and mix gently
  5. Divide the mixture in 6 portions and make tikkis
  6. Heat a nonstick pan with 1 tsp oil. Cook tikkis on high heat till browned on both sides
